Maruti Kizashi : Is all set to hit Indian roads
Japanese car maker Suzuki’s Kizashi sedan will be launched in India shortly, according to Gene Brown, vice-president of American Suzuki Motor Corp. The new Maruti Kizashi, a luxury car all set to compete with the luxury cars of Honda, VW, Toyota etc. at premium market segment. Maruti Kizashi at price of just above Rs. 10 lac will mark entry of Maruti Suzuki into new car segment in India. Maruti Kizashi will be launched in entry level and premium level car segments in India.
Maruti Kizashi mid segment sedan which was displayed at the car expo in Delhi recently, is already a success in US and was first unveiled in 2007 in Frankfurt Motor Show. Maruti Kizashi car will be the first four wheel driven car in India and it has a 2.4 liter Euro IV engine. Maruti Kizashi car comes with 6 speed manual transmission and also has an automatic option based on continuous variable transmission technology (CVT) also with paddle shift.
Maruti Kizashi is probably the first all-wheel drive sedan in the luxury D segment. Maruti’s Kizashi will carry an advanced four-valve turbo-fired two-litre petrol, Euro V engine. Maruti Kizashi is also likely to posses the first six-speed transmission from the Suzuki stable. A crossover sports sedan, Kizashi, which depicts an athlete in motion, sport 21” wheels.
Maruti thus moves out from the mini car category which it was the forerunner till now and is all set to compete with other European and US top brands of luxury cars and sedans. Maruti Kizashi will be the first ever big car from the company and it is expected to out perform many older brands that are known for sedans and luxury cars.
Gene Brown, Vice President of American Suzuki Motor Corp. recently confirmed this new arrival yet to be released in India at the Chicago Auto Show. Exact date of Maruti Kizashi launch in India is not yet known and all car lovers are awaiting this new inclusion to the already long list of Luxury cars on road today in India.
The Kizashi is priced between Rs.12,00,000 and Rs.14,00,000.
